Julie Dykes

MA Clinical Supervision, PG Dip CBT, PG Dip Integrative Therapy

Julie is a qualified Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor, now working primarily in private practice. She was Clinical Lead at the counselling service of Cardiff Metropolitan University Counselling Service for over twenty years and has worked for the Open University, Imperial College London, Welsh Assembly, EAPs, Local Authorities, NHS Traumatic Stress Service and many other statutory, private and third sector organisations. Currently she supervises therapists and Mental Health mentors at a number of UK Universities and counselling charities as well as at YCS.

She is qualified in Clinical Supervision, CBT, integrative therapies, EMDR and has particular interest in working with trauma related symptoms and neurodivergence.

Julie worked for many years as a trainer in Sexual Health, coordinating and training throughout the UK on largely behalf of the Family Planning Association. This included Train the Trainers Sex Education for teachers, social workers etc. Additionally she taught this subject for HM Prison Cardiff.

For over ten years Julie was a Trustee at YCS Wales, and was Chair from 2017 to 2021.
